Flounder Fling

A popular event held on Saturday and Sunday.  Participants fling a flounder into a large frying pan.  Size of flounder and distance away from frying pan depends on size of flinger.  “I flung a flounder” T-shirt awarded to participants who get the fish in the pan 2 out of 3 times. The best tradition of all–Miss North Carolina lovingly flings the first Flounder every year!

Open to everyone. No registration fee.
