Join us Sunday, October 6th for The Blessing of the Fleet, a time-honored NC Seafood Festival event steeped in tradition and reverence. Each year, through the Blessing of the Fleet, we recognize the many commercial fishermen who have given their lives in their occupation, and we thank those who continue the hard work of supporting our area and industry.
Without the fleet of commercial fishing vessels that come from Carteret County, the availability of fresh seafood in the state and even the nation would be greatly impacted. But the sea is sometimes not so forgiving. This is why we recognize the many who have given their lives in their occupation and thank those who do it today. Join us for the emotional Blessing of the Fleet as we pray, remember, and honor the men and women of our fishing and seafood industry.
The service begins at the south end of Radio Island. Free parking is available.
