NC Seafood Festival - Top 20 Event in the Southeast
The North Carolina Seafood Festival was recently named on
of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by the Southeast
Tourism Society. This is the second time The North Carolina
Seafood Festival has received this honor since it beginning
in 1987.
"This Top 20 Events represent the best festivals the
Southeast has to offer. Events that win this honor benefit
from the widespread exposure and prestige that being named a
Top 20 Event affords," says Stephanie Brown-Newton, STS
Coordinator of the Top 20 Events Program. The Southeast
Tourism Society was founded in 1983 and is dedicated to the
promotion and development of tourism. To be nominated for
the Top 20 Events list, and event must be in at least it's
3rd year and have a minimum attendance of 1000.
"We are very honored to have been selected as a Top 20
Event," says, Sarah Weinhold, NCSF Director. "This
recognition will not only benefit the NCSF but the County,
the Coastal area, and the Seafood Industry as well. This
list is publicized on Television radio stations throughout
the US and Canada. It is also noted in numerous magazines,
newspapers, AAA's, and other areas as well. Needless to say
we are pleased with this recognition."
