"In A Silent Way"
I can remember as far back as ten years old drawing pictures
of birds,
trees and anything that caught my eye. I spent many summers
vacationing from Illinois to Maine to the Carolinas. As I grew older, my
love for the coast grew stronger. I am pleased to be living in a
coastal community with my wife Kathe and son Walter. It is at this point in my
life that I get to meet not only folks from this area but
others to discuss our passions for this beautiful part of the world.
This is truly an inspiring town with it's natural beauty and the
refreshing personalities that make Carteret County what we all desire.
I received a degree in commercial art and advertising from
Guilford Technical Institute. Although the degree has allowed me to
broaden my knowledge of the print media, I have found painting to be my
favorite outlet and paint as often as I can.
I have painted scenes from dirt tracks to baseball parks,
but have found myself absorbed in coastal and seafaring
themes. I truly enjoy the coastal atmosphere.
No matter what the subject may be, my goal is to create on
canvas a time or moment that makes us stop, look, absorb and
move again with more fulfillment than when our journey
started.
