Artist Kay Zimarino
"Celebration of the Sea"

Kay Zimarino grew up in Lenoir County and now resides in Carteret County with her husband Steve and two young boys, Nick and Logan. Since her father is an artist, she has been exposed to art of different forms her entire life. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics and is currently enrolled at ECU for her Masters in School Administration. She has been an art teacher for 15 years, spending six years teaching elementary grades and nine years teaching high school. She is currently an art teacher at Croatan High School.

She enjoys all mediums of art but especially acrylics, mural painting, mosaics, and watercolors. Many of her paintings are presently in homes and businesses here in North Carolina.

She is listed in "Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers" for her accomplishments with student artists and "Who’s Who Among American Women".
