Artist Larry Burge
"Carolina Classic"
The North Carolina Seafood Festival Board of Directors has
selected Larry Burge of Newport, North Carolina as the 1999
Poster Artist. Mr. Burge was chosen February 1, 2000 and
will release the official poster in May at the Poster
Unveiling at the North Carolina Aquarium, in Pine Knoll
Shores.
Mr. Burge began his work at a very young age. It was not
until the age of 29 that he decided to get serious about his
art. His first show in 1978 took place at the Wilkes Art
Gallery in North Wilksboro. Since that show Mr. Burge has
exhibited his work in one-man shows, group exhibits,
galleries and museums throughout North Carolina. You can
also find Mr. Burge's work in many corporate collections
throughout the state. In 1990 he signed with Salem Graphics
Inc. and started releasting limited-edition prints. Since
then 10 prints have been released. Ducks Unlimited Wallpaper
has released paintings "Hatteras Light" and "West of Bodie"
in a new line of Imperial Wallpaper coordinating borders.
Mr. Burge is listed in the 1999-2000 "Who's Who in the South
and Southwest" for his outstanding achievement as an artist.
The book is published annually and honors citizens from many
different states. After the Poster Unveiling the 1999
Official North Carolina Seafood Festival Poster will be on
display at the Seafood Festival Gift Shop located at 404-A
Evans Street in downtown Morehead City and at various events
and locations throughout the county. For more information
