FAQ's

1. When is the Festival?
The Festival officially opens on Friday with the Opening Ceremonies on the waterfront. This year the dates are Friday, October 1st through Sunday October 3rd, 2010.

2. Why are there no vendors on Friday night?
The Festival officially opens on Friday at 5pm. However the Morehead City waterfront streets are not closed to traffic until 1:30 pm. Since the Health Department only allows non-profit vendors to operate 2 days without a special permit, the Festival has elected to have vendors open on Saturday and Sunday. Also on Friday evening we like to promote our waterfront merchants and hope our visitors can experience some of the wonderful food in our downtown restaurants.

Rides and the North Carolina Seafood Festival Product Booth on 7th Street also open at 5pm on Friday. Three stages of entertainment are offered on Friday evening.

3. Where can I park?
FREE parking is offered at the NC State Port with a free shuttle Saturday & Sunday only to and from the Festival grounds. The shuttles leaves from the state port and carries festival-goers to 3rd Street. The shuttle runs from 9am - 10pm on Saturday and 11am - 6pm on Sunday. Other lots around the footwall area are operated by community groups with most charging a daily fee to park. We urge you NOT to park on side streest or allys surrounding the festival. Vehichles parked illegally will be towed at owners expense.

4. What if I need extra cash?
There are ATM machines located at 9th Street at First Citizens Bank and at 8th & Arendell Street at Wachovia Bank.

5. Are pets allowed at the Festival?
Over the last twenty-three years, the number of people visiting the Festival has steadily grown. Over the past several years, the Festival has noticed a dramatic increase in the number of pets. Most of these pets are well behaved, but some were not. In order to ensure the safety of our patrons and of the pets, the Board of Directors decided to ban all pets from the Festival.

6. Where can I stay during festival weekend?
